The aim of Sonic Visualiser is to be the program you reach for when you find a musical recording you want to study rather than simply hear.

This product is as good as needs to be only if it shows the overtones included in the sonic frequencies. Then it is in fact a useful tool for the Composer/Musician to have a better understand of sound! The early Computer Music relied on the Composer to actually input the sound of an instrument's overtones to create sound using PDP-11 programming...It took forever to compose a few lines!

Sonic Visualiser is an application for viewing and analysing the contents of music audio files. I haven't tested out this program yet, but I think this has good potential.
