wow. snopes fails. magicians code my ass, information has to be free. this page is of no use if they don't explain how it works. that it's not magic is obvious, since there's no such thing as magic

Midgets, twins and people without arms or legs are often used by magicians in their tricks. This "girl" was probably someone without legs and another person, carrying the "top" around.
