These guys make me feel lazy, like I should get out there and make amazing 3d. Probably won't happen, but it's good to be inspired.

Instead of being drawn as you see them (2D) they are modeled in all 3 dimensions. Many of these were likely made in Zbrush or similar and therefore were sculpted from all sides like a piece of clay. The data these were rendered from is just as 3D as a real object, it is just contained within a computer. So yes these are 2D, but so are photos of real objects and pictures of sculptures.
