KristinJ117 discovered 8 weeks ago- ACLU membership has doubled during Bush presidency

M-Nome rated 8 weeks ago- From the page: "But it wasn't only in left-leaning locales like San Francisco, where the Northern California chapter is headquartered, that people flocked to support the ACLU. Five-hundred miles to the right - both geographically and politically - in Utah, ACLU membership nearly doubled, up from from about 1,300 at the start of the Bush administration, according to chapter officials. " Well, at least something good has happened in the past 7 years.

anticompany rated 8 weeks ago- ACLU membership has doubled during Bush presidency. Hmm... I wonder why.

sarahlee rated 8 weeks ago- From the page: "By many measures, the Bush administration has been bad for civil liberties. Yet the past seven years have been particularly good for the American Civil Liberties Union. National membership in the organization, which fights for freedom of speech and religion, equal protection, due process and privacy, has doubled since Bush took office in 2001 - an extraordinary spurt of growth for the 88-year-old institution. "

tree-lights rated 8 weeks ago- This is a very "meh" article. I think it should've been obvious that a lot of support for civil liberty and "progressive" organizations would have increased since Prez Bush took office, seeing as so many people OPPOSE him. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, seeing as how support for the protection and creation of liberties is vastly needed in this country... I just wonder how many people will keep up with the support. All this activism against conservatism as sparked by the "Bush" Administration just seems like a fad. In today and out tomorrow is not good when you need it all the time. (the activism, I mean, anti-conservative or not)
