There's no proof that this was the actual sequence of events... it even looks like that might be a different dog in the last frame. It's more bulky, doesn't have a curled tail, its eyes look yellow instead of brown, and it looks like a bigger dog overall. There are so few pictures here that the events easily could have gone in reverse...
