Kaitlin rated 3 months ago- I enjoyed this Slate article, "The Paranoid Style in American Science," which discusses extremist skepticism and fear of uncertainty that leads to conspiratorial thinking. There's nothing wrong with scientific inquiry, and without doubt, we'd all have been marching in lockstep long ago. On the other hand, even the most well-meaning of us have agendas, even subconscious ones. It makes it really hard to sort out the information from the noise.
