Rapture discovered 11 days ago- I had never heard this before, and I'm really glad to know! (I did some research & discovered that codes starting with the number 9 also indicates organic veggies.) I don't know that the GMO thing is a big deal but I prefer no pesticides so I appreciate knowing that codes beginning in 9 are free of such things. - Some fruits actually are better if organic. Others are just the same. It depends on how they absorb the pesticides. Also, as a former cashier at a grocery store, I knew this long ago. Mainly, the reason for the thumbs down was the general attitude on the page.

- What the hell is wrong with GMO? Introducing novel proteins to plants is something that happens naturally, we have just now started to be able to introduce native insect-deterrence, etc. to fruit that will help us avoid using supplemental herbicides and pesticides. For all-organic people, this should be a benefit, not a deterrent, to GMO.

- They discredit themselves by suggesting that we need to "RUN!!" from genetically modified food. You know what? All food served in America today has been genetically modified -- through hundreds of years of selective breeding. Suck it up.

- Nice to know, but i'm fed up with this anti-GMO bullshit. the "RUN!" comment is childish and ignorant. Know what? I'm going to look for fruit labelled with the GMO number (8) and specifically buy that INSTEAD of regular or organic fruit. So BLAH. Yes, i do realize that that comment itself was childish.
