- The only thing cooler than a singlepseed is a fixed gear. I own three bikes, all steel and two of them are fixed. Sweet!

Right now my only geared bike is my roadbike. I parted out my geared mountain bike on ebay about 4 months ago, because it just wasn't getting ridden. I do plan to ride gears at a few race events this year, but I'd say that 94% of my riding these days is done on a one-speed bike.
Try it, you'll like it, or you'll die trying it.
It kicks ass.
