"Currently, bipolar disorder cannot be identfied biologically with a
simple blood test or brain scan. Instead, a diagnosis is made primarily
on the basis of symptoms discussed in the doctor's office ..................research that analyzes the bipolar brain could lead to better diagnostic techniques and improved treatment."

What if a doctor is biased?
or
What if the doctor and his employer are concerned with getting paid forever, since you will be on medication forever with that diagnosis?
I remain skeptic that a new treatment and process of diagnosing will change anytime soon, brings in the revenue this way.
