Awils1 has the right idea here, I think; drawing analogies between otherwise abstract or disconnected units of measure and connecting them with our familiar experience lies at the very core of understanding physics - or any kind of science, for that matter.

A great site, good for understanding the size of various units.

I think some of the reviewers are missing the potential of this site, as it is definitely not only humorous, but useful for any student struggling with conceptualising some of the larger or more abstract units. For example, a quick entry of 6 nm results in 40 hydrogen atom diameters, which is perceivable. Its not so easy to think of what a nanometer looks like, length-wise.

this is cool... it's a conversion table that takes any measurement that you imput and converts it to a written visual equivalent i.e. 1 mile = 15 American football fields, or 5 Eifel Towers, or etc...
