devbasu discovered 11 days ago- Those who have been in the industry since the late 90's have seen huge changes in SEO. The industry has really matured. But in the grand scheme of things, if you were to plot SEO on a product life cycle chart you would see that the industry is still in its' infancy. Except that we're poised for some serious growth.

- Seems like it's stating the obvious, but SEO is definitely in its early stages as an industry. This article discusses the structure and emerging issues in the SEO industry. Some interesting points and food for thought. How will the industry change, it's hard to say, but when you get people who are not your typical geek asking you about SEO, you know it's going mainstream. The author is predicting even more rapid growth in SEO, which makes sense as online business grows. As online business grows it will become even more competitive for search engine rankings, fuelling the demand for quality search engine optimization. Another prediction is that there will be a shortage of qualified SEO people. This likely means more expensive SEO. Not bad if you want to put a Porsche in the driveway. If you can get the results, I don't think the customers will balk.
