Iwi discovered 24 months ago- Sweden will be free of fossils fuels !

StephanieRogers rated 3 months ago- From the page: "Could you imagine a world without oil? A car running without petrol? A country working entirely on clean energy? Well, the Swedes have. In October 2005 the Swedish Minister for Sustainable Development, Ms Mona Sahlin, announced that Sweden aims to become the worldâ€s first oil-free country by 2020"

Calhoun rated 5 months ago- I would let the Scandinavians run the whole show mind you thats just me.

alana13 rated 6 months ago- "The Swedish government wants to cut-off completely the nation's dependency on fossil energy and switch to clean, renewable energy. That means that Sweden will become the first country in the world to stop using oil."

jbet777 rated 12 months ago- From the page: "The Swedish Parliament has called upon a multidisciplinary committee of experts to receive advice on biofuels and other renewable energies such as wind and tidal power. The group of experts, which is mainly composed by academics, industrialists, car manufacturers, and farmers, have been asked to bring solutions to the governmentâ€s target: "Sweden's dependency on oil should be broken by 2020"."

PhilsReel rated 12 months ago- I believe this is going to make a huge difference on everything! If/When it works, they will be able to get many other, smaller countries to do the same. Eventually a global domino effect. I'm excited.

- Ambitious plan. Especially since the US government's goal is to improve fuel efficiency by 10mpg by that time...(I could be wrong) but then again.. that is comparing apples to oranges...

AlthaeaSoaps rated 13 months ago- ROCK ON, my Scandinavian brothers and sisters! My favorite part of my heritage, they are.

bluezfire rated 21 months ago- It looks to me as if Sweden is setting the standards by which we should ALL be following. Oil-free by 2020! It seems the most popular question is, "Can they do it?" I think the question should be, "Will we even try?"
