happyt3hman rated 5 months ago- Seriously, get off the Internet ren faire losers...

Wespennest rated 7 months ago- Great fun until the all of the spirit and passion is stomped and squashed out of you by an unending torrent of snippy know-it-alls and all-around jerks who will berate you for not being totally "in period" while gleefully prancing around with their digital watches and cell phones. After this, you really will hope for a greater adherence to historical accuracy so that a third of all SCAdians will simulate the bubonic plague and quit.

kevinw1 rated 11 months ago- The SCA can be whatever you want to to be , from a party venue to a serious historical research group. If you love dressing up and playing pretend, it's great. Start here to find overviews and right on down to your local group.

ForlornHope88 rated 12 months ago- As much a part of me as I am a part of it. I was pretty much born into the Society, and would recommend anyone with an interest in history or things like good, wholesome chivalry and pageantry to check these folks out.

- I came across this site via an armory warehouse site. I've always wondered where groups like this one hide out in the world, managing to amass 30,000 members and yet remain fairly unknown.

spidercrab rated 15 months ago- group which recreates medieval lifestyles during a number of outdoor festivals. Cool if you were a knight or a wench in your former life.

rush2112 rated 19 months ago- Duct tape was not invented in the Middle Ages.

Ma1colm rated 20 months ago- Take one part historical society and one part science fiction convention, mix in a dash of frat party. To this add the following: jocks, computer geeks, sewing circle members, college students (and professors), stay at home moms, and anyone else who doesn't run away fast enough when asked if they'd like to try on armor or a costume. Soak overnight in a liberal amount of medieval history and mythology, spiced still with a smidgen of Tolkenian and Arthurian ideals peeking out from our roots. In the morning bake with the realization that you've found your tribe until it is enough. Serve it forth as the Society for Creative Anachronism and enjoy.

skipp0023 rated 25 months ago- Just started getting into this group -- it's amazing how much the senior members around here know about armor, warfare and crafts of the period.
