greenchair rated 9 months ago- Radio sucks, good riddance.

A-minus rated 10 months ago- An incredible organization that has done much to fight excessive fees and royalties on internet streaming radio, which the CRB, RIAA et al have tried to implement ("between 300 and 1200% over the next 5 years"). As a former college radio DJ, I really value what they have done. Because of them I can still listen to my old radio station online, pretty much.

Please support this. One of the great joys of the internet in the past for me was listening to radio stations around the world. Now many of the American stations I used to visit have stopped broadcasting on the internet because of the RIAA - a move to protect large music corporations, but which hurts many musicians and prevents a worldwide understanding of Americans. It is notable that when local or struggling artists appear on BBC radio, emails of appeciation are received from all over the world - so the internet gives them access to a worldwide audience. This is denied to all but the most popular American artists (played internationally anyway), who also benefit from the RIAA's action, but need it the least.

Pongping rated 12 months ago- Please keep supporting the campaign!

Desdamon rated 12 months ago- Killing internet radio will just cause a surge in illegal downloading. I don't know what will happen if www.di.fm disappears, I'll have no source for Goa-Trance.

- From the page: "On March 2, 2007 the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB), which oversees sound recording royalties paid by Internet radio services, increased Internet radio's royalty burden between 300 and 1200 percent and thereby jeopardized the industry's future. At the request of the Recording Industry Association of America, the CRB ignored the fact that Internet radio royalties were already double what satellite radio pays, and multiplied the royalties even further. ----------Internet radio needs your help to survive. We need you to pressure your representatives in Congress to take action. Please take a moment to call your Congressional representatives in the House and Senate to ask them to co-sponsor the Internet Radio Equality Act." --------------------------------------------------- It looks like the fat-cat blood-sucking jerks are at it again. If they could, they would charge you for the very air you breathe. Save online radio!
