WhoGivesAShirt rated 32 months ago- My "boat rockers" tag is usually reserved for political activists, but I can't resist bestowing it upon Sarah Harmer. Sarah's a Canadian treasure who hasn't yet had her fair share of attention from any media beyond the CBC, as they're usually busy pushing the craptacular and overhyped Big Three of Alanis, Shania and the other Sarah (Maclachlan.) Her style is familiar and yet unique - a mixture of bluegrass picking, pop sound and introspective lyrics, that is unlike anything else currently aired. I love it to bits, and can't recommend it enough. American Stumblers should note that she's visiting the US in March - while I have never seen her live, and thus can't attest to her stage presence, her music is fantastic, and worth the trip.
