StumbleKKSS discovered 4 months ago- From the page: "Consider the following extraordinary commentary: Alan Greenspan saying, "The current financial crisis in the US is likely to be judged in retrospect as the most wrenching since the end of the second world war." Former Reagan economic advisor Martin Feldstein saying, "Could this become the worst recession we have seen in the postwar period? I think the answer is yes." Paul Krugman writing that the current situation "looks increasingly like one of history's great financial crises."" Unbelievable. I guess I had an inkling, but really didn't want to believe it was this dire... What will the pols do? Hard to find any rose-colored glasses here...

j0-j0 rated 4 months ago- ...is there going to be some sort of punishment and reform passed out after this mess?

disconcision rated 4 months ago- "The bailout of Bear Stearns by J.P. Morgan, a shotgun marriage in which Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke played the role of farmer's daughter's father, has excited a buzz of commentary about the proper role of the government in the economy not seen since the orchestrated rescue of Long Term Capital Management in 1998."
(cliche forces awesome phrasing)- "The bailout of Bear Stearns by J.P. AngelaHayden rated 4 months ago- Not even George W. Bush or Alan Greenspan can sugarcoat America's financial meltdown. Will the next president seize the chance to rethink how we run our economy?
