Serendipity (s9y) is an excellent open source blog. I use it for my blog at http://www.thanassis.com/blog It's very easy to use and has 100s of easy to install extensions.

Serendipity is now my blog platform of choice! Not so complicated and doesn't give me a headache like some of the others.

Serendipity is a weblog/blog system, implemented with PHP. It is standards compliant, feature rich and open source (BSD License).

I checked out several options before hosting my own Serendipity blog. Serendipity is easy to use and easy to change. Serendipity uses .tpl files for display-level formatting, as does some of the forum software such as phpBB2. If you haven't used .tpl files, just think of them as .html files with a different suffix.

Installing is Easy!
