Kudos to the reporter for not swallowing the hype. Two teens gang up, beat up, and ultimately kill a seven year old sister. Prosecutors are claiming that they were using "wrestling moves" they learned from Mortal Kombat.Bullshit. First off, Mortal Kombat had nothing to do with wrestling. About the closest you could get was the single throw move that the characters had - almost all of them involved having four arms, some kind of weapon, blades coming out of the arms, or other such nonsense that would be awfully difficult for a couple of teenagers to accomplish. The only one I can think of off the top of my head was the ninjas' throw (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, etc.), which sort of resembled a Judo Tominagi throw. Okay, so I haven't played much MK since Ultimate MK3, but the point remains: MK has always been about over-the-top violence that is so ludicrous that it couldn't even be done in real life.So how did Mortal Kombat come up in any of this? Where the hell do these prosecutors even get such foolish ideas? Maybe the reporter - who approached the subject with a level-headed, realistic assessment, compared to the paranoid old fogey nightmare of the prosecutors - ought to be the one trying the case, and these prosecutors ought to be the ones reporting for Fox News. Other than providing bait for slimeball anti-First Amendment lawyer Jack Thompson, there is no reason for inserting Mortal Kombat into this tragic story.

From the page: "When asked why he refused to stop, Roberts answered â€oeI donâ€t know; I was drunk.”"

Hmm... what does Mortal Kombat have to do with wrestling?? Also who is making this connection? Most likely the ADA, because the teen said only that he was playing video games(also MK is kind of old for him to be playing anyway). And good for the reporter not jumping on that broken horse.

Two teenagers have been charged with killing one of the pairs' own 7-year-old sister using alleged Mortal Combat imitation moves. The 16 and 17 year old teens were baby sitting the child whilst the girl's mother was at work when the incident happened.

From the page: "There is no defense for this kind of crime. The pure malice you need in order to kill a 7 year old girl that brutally does not come, nor is there any evidence it comes from, video games. The fact video games are being dragged into this horrendous debacle is indicative of the current state of affairs and only reinforces the publics misconceived perception regarding the impact of videogame violence." ... alright, lemme say it - what the hell ... teens get drunk, wrestle around with a 7 year old girl, break her wrist and cause other injuries leading to her death, all the while the little girl pleads to stop, then blame the whole thing on video games and not alcohol and their own malice and idiocy ... messed up ...
