- The pioneers behind RipLounge are entrepreneurs Andrew Stern, Dave
Abelson, and Joshua Stein. With their wildly different backgrounds -- a
psychology major, a professional tennis player and an investment banker,
respectively -- it was their creativity and conceptual prowess that brought
them together to form RipLounge. Out one night and taking note of his
surroundings, Abelson wondered why someone hadn't had the good idea to
create an online networking site that mimicked the experience of going out
on the town without the hassle or cost. It was then subtly pointed out that
he just did. Bringing his concept to the table, Stern and Stein agreed that
Abelson's idea was worth taking seriously, and RipLounge was born.
