Wow, pretty mind blowing stuff. I've read Bill Bryson's 'A short history of nearly everything' (I think that's the title' and it deals with trying to explain such differences in size but to see it visually as here is great.

last comment i see stated that antares is not bigger then betelgeuse... Who noticed the proportions of the earth to MARS... this one is just wrong... wrong wrong wrong... Disclaimer: I have never been to Mars or had Mars and Earth in the same room, I just go by what i have learned... EVER.
