I don't know how I havnt reviewed this website before, I sure as hell should have! Regina is amazing, original, creative, unique. She's the Russian-born, Bronx-raised singer-songwriter you never expected to love as much as you will! Check her out. Her most famous peices are a good start- On the Radio, Fidelity, Better and Us.

Dear lord, how have i not reviewed Regina's site before? I love love love love her so much. Dear lord. I was fortunate enough to see her live, October 11, 2007 at the Kool Haus, Toronto. She is so goddamn tiny (well ok, she's an inch taller than me but that only puts her at 5'2"), but dear LORD the voice and fire that comes out of that girl is HUGE. I couldn't begin to choose my favourite song, but i do like a lot of the stuff she's never released, like Genius and Happy Hooker and A Lesson in how Fleeting Preservation is. Oh and also i love Après Moi, Prisoners and Daniel Cowman... I hope she releases a new album soon, i can't get enough of her.

Darling R e g i n a ! If you've not heard Ms. Spektor yet, I highly suggest you give her a listen. She's an amazing Russian-born, Bronx-raised singer-songwriter with more spirit and spunk than you can shake a stick at... whatever that means. quirk//soul//joy//honesty//humor//eloquence//art I personally prefer her older work a bit more -- Songs is my favorite album -- but I adore nearly everything she's done. Even with her more polished, radio-friendly, slightly mainstream-ized shift with Begin to Hope, she has the character, joy, and integrity to keep her soul intact. Also worth noting is the fact that she doesn't prance around in little more than two bandaids and a cork, like the vast majority of her age group's female 'artists.' She is a classic beauty -- nothing short of stunning, and her wardrobe is the kind of stuff I'd love to play dress-up with (see the "Us" video below for a prime example). Her live performances are impeccable, and she's absolutely adorable (and impressively tiny for such a big voice) in person. Anyway, my ravings aside, you really should check her out. Regina's videos: stop-motion animation + great lyrics & music + beautiful songstress = win. UsSamsonOn the RadioFidelity

Initially I wasn't too sure about Regina Spektor, but as I repeatedly listened to her album "Begin to Hope", I fell in love with her heartfelt, quirky music. My favourite album of last year by a long shot.
