"Luciani's conclusion: between 1pm and 3pm PST (after lunch) or between 5pm and 7pm PST (after work) are the best times and Thursday is the best day. The worst time to post? Between 3 and 5 PM PST on the weekends - nobody cares."

Interesting observation on times to post to social news sites. For those who are keen to know why a submission will become popular and anoter won't. Probably won't work all the time.

I'd always wondered if I have a timing advantage because I live in Honolulu (GMT -10). According to this study, the best times to submit items to digg, del.icio.us and other portals are between 0000 and 0200, and 1600 to 2200 GMT. For me, that's between 6 am and noon, and 2-4 pm. I often schedule my articles to publish around 1100 GMT each day, while I sleep. That's 1 am Honolulu time.

Great way to note the best times to submit a post to mixx, del.icio.us, digg, etc.
