Pete-Moss rated 21 months ago- The coolest things about a truly "killer ap" by one dude, (Mr Ruud van Gaal), are for instance: being able to introduce a car yourself. I've added a 1936 Tatra T-77, a little known but historically significant car, (which VW Co had to pay patent fines for.) With help from my Czech co-hort and Racer's realistic physics and rendering, we've added T-77 physics and sound. One can now "drive" the thing personally and see just why the WWII occupied Czechs called it the "Nazi Killer". (Why some reviewers would go on a negative rant about a free, colloborative, open source project like this suggests to me nothing much more perhaps than a personality disorder...or merely immaturity?) It's a simulator, not a "game". Real vehicle design folks can use Racer.

Ksempac rated 30 months ago- An Open Source free racing Game... Ok before voting i actually tried the game for few hours (unlike many stumblers who voted this one up) : Now i m sure its definitly a thumb down. The only car you have when you install the game is more like a heavy block of soap and behaves strangly...so most of the time you re under 100 Km/h and you ve got the impression that you re under 30 Km/h. well thats not a problem because the IA sucks : if you compete against the IA you will probably win without difficulty even if you go outside of the road every 3 or 4 turns. Anyways the project seemed interesting so i tried some of the files from fan sites. I did get a really nice looking track that didn t change the main problem : the cars suck. Although i did use only top rated files 1/3 of the files didnt work. Among the others files the only cars that dont have shitty controls are cars that actually seems bad copies of cars from other games (i.e. fast Porshes, McLaren, F1 etc...with probably special physics values to prevent the game from sending you out of the track every time you go over 80 Km/h). So although it may have been a good game and its still in beta the too many bugs and shitty controls after 3 years of work on the game deserve a thumb down. I would rather pay a little fee to get an old commercial racing game than continuing playing on this one.

ThePavementView rated 30 months ago- This is the best racing game I've seen online, and the downloadable updates seem like they'll keep it fresh for a while.

thephreaker rated 31 months ago- Be sure to check out the forums for new versions, cars, tracks, and works in progress.

- This looks neat...i was never too much into racing or driving simulation kind of games, but the concept and the graphics behind this one really makes me wanna try it out!

JeraDarklighter rated 32 months ago- Wow, this looks pretty cool. I'll give it a try after I upgrade my computer some more.

ozpass rated 32 months ago- Probably superb, but unfortunately the Mac version (maybe others) is hosted on (the frankly dogshit) FileFront, entailing a 2 hour + wait to begin downloading (unless I were to pay for an "immediate" download). No thanks.
