From the page: "Caramel Macchiato Basically, a vanilla latte with a bit less vanilla and extra foam, and with gooey, yummy caramel sauce drizzled on top. If it doesn't taste sweet enough when you first try it, mix it up a bit. If it's still not sweet enough, ask for more vanilla -- caramel sauce doesn't really dissolve well, so by the time it strongly flavors the drink there's way too much. Iced caramel macchiatos, like hot ones, have the shots and caramel poured on top, so when you get it it won't look mixed at all. Just make sure you stir it before you drink. Macchiato, by the way, is pronounced "mah-kee-AH-tow.""

The one thing missing from this is how to actually call a drink order. I used to work at Starbucks, about 12 years ago, and you'd be surprised how much faster you can get your drink if you know how to call *correctly* it to the bar while you're in line. I'll write a post about that in my personal blog though - the point is this is a great article that can help you choose a drink.

I like this Starbucks guide. Now I know what I'm ordering...without having to ask and without looking like an Un-sophisticated coffee drinker.

This just highlights why i brew at home to my own taste and mood. Real coffee, not flavoured foamed coloured complicated crap.

I used to scoff at people who ordered their coffees "tall" instead of just saying they want a large coffee. I used to boycott the lingo, usually just ordering "one coffee, please". Now, emboldened by this page's clear and straightforward guide, the next time I'm in a Starbucks I might venture forth and try out one of the more advanced orders. My life will be richer for it, I'll bet. Oh, and all you coffee connoisseurs who thumbed this down (probably for being too proletarian and not advanced enough for ya) can P off to your indy coffe houses and FOAD, IMHO.

What is the point of this ? 1. Starbucks are rubbish. 2. If you didn't know about these types of drink by now, you must have been living on planet zog! 3. The best places to have a decent coffee are small independant cafes run by Italians, Spanish, French and A1gerians and others. 4. What a waste of a web page.

what is so great about Starbucks? Really. The iced caramel macchiato is gross for example. I find their coffee blends highly acidic & strongly overpowering. Way overpriced too. Total rip-off.
