therber2 rated 6 weeks ago- Perhaps not as humble and honest as people are saying. Powell's phone representatives are deceiving, and say things which contradict their Terms of Agreement. Be careful with this company. You don't get a good deal with your books, and you are really not donating when you give to them. You are giving a flawed company more money. Donate to the salvation army if that is your intention. This place is a huge rip off if you are doing book buy back. You could definately do better elsewhere, and no, Powell's is not as convenient as it looks.

- I have the pleasure of being employed by what is hands down the best bookstore in America. The drawback is not blowing your paycheck on books.

- A Portland landmark. One of the things I would miss most if I ever left here. Powells online is wonderful, but the main store is beyond belief and a haven for lovers of the written word, especially when they need a place to read, have a coffee, and visit others while escaping the torrential rain outside.

- Best bookstore ever, buy from out of state and no sales tax. Single easiest place to go in and drop a couple hundred without even trying. And independent, whats not to like?
