Although it's cool PLoS is in Stumbleupon, I'm afraid very few folks stumbling upon it will be able to understand the articles (unless they are scientists). There are other open access journals (e.g. www.biomedcentral.com/), but PLoS is currently considered the open access journal that publishes the most prestigious science.
