Folktales and fairytales have been an integral part of the social fabric of any cutlure. They provide an insight into the workings of society and a glimpse into the lives of the its people. I foudn Japanese Folktales to be amusing, mysterious and educational. If you want to delve into the myths of Japan then this is a great place to start.

Maybe the translation is the problem. I just don't find the story enjoyable. 1/5

This is a part of a much larger, wonderful collection of folktales which the author categorised according to types. Good, interesting stuff.
