TylerMC rated 24 months ago- The big question is, Is this for real? Through several of my contacts we did confirm its authenticity. Here's the skinny: Inquiry one from Calgery: To me it seems a suspect story made up to increase public condemnation of the Iranian regime (in preparation for regime change?). Reminded me of the story of the incubators in Kuwait before the first attack on Iraq which turned out to be false. Or the report carried by several newspapers about a new law in Iran requiring Jews to wear a yellow star (a plant from the Bnai Brith and Simon Wiesenthal centre). I did a bit of research (20 pages of Google search) but could find no independent reporting from Iran on Nazarin, There was a reference to "Itemad", a supposedly Iranian newspaper (in Farsi which I can't read). All other reports were secondary sources. I think we should be highly skeptical of stories we read, especially ones that have a strong emotional appeal and at a time like this. Do you know of an independent original report? e.g. a known foreign journalist reporting from Iran who signs his name? ++++++++++++++++ WHAT WE DISCOVERED via a sources with enviable connections in the Iranian government: "The story is indeed legit. While I understand (XXX)'s concerns about fabricated stories, we also need to be careful that we dont fall into the trap of apologizing for the Islamic republic of Iran because we dislike Bush. There are still serious human rights abuses taking place there and I see no reason why we cant oppose both Abu Ghraib and Evin (Iran's notorious prison for political dissidents) simultaneously." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Therefore if her story moves you, this is indeed a legitimate petition and cause you may support:) Tyler MC

Maria007 rated 25 months ago- From the page: "We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned for 18-year-old Nazanin who faces execution by the Islamic Republic of Iran. On January 3, 2006, 18-year-old Nazanin was sentenced to death for murder by court in Iran after she reportedly admitted fatally stabbing one of three men who attempted to rape her and her 16-year-old niece in a park in Karaj (a suburb of Tehran) in March 2005. She was seventeen at the time. Her sentence is subject to review by the Court of Appeal, and if upheld, to confirmation by the Supreme Court. "
