Use "stevia sweet leaf". It is natural, has no calories and soft on stomach. Your dog will be safe in any scenario - guarantied.

Sugar Substitute Is Toxic To Pets Xylitol gum Xylitol is a sugar substitute commonly used in toothpastes, mouthwash, sugarless gum, certain cough medicines and children's chewable multi-vitamins. It also used in many baked goods and candies. This product is recommended for diabetics and those following a low-carbohydrate diet. However, xylitol is extremely dangerous to your dog.

Xylotol is wonderful for your oral health... We really push it in the dental field now. People who chew gum that is high in xylotol (Ice Breakers Cubes seems to have the highest concentration) have fewer cavities and a lot less build up. Dogs shouldn't be allowed to have candy anyway (think about how harmful chocolate is for them).
