I like animals, but I hate PETA.

you know, you could call it hypocritical... but what are the options when you have thousands of animals who were mistreated or abandoned or whatever and who no one wants to take into their homes? release them to the streets for a miserable (and short) life of disease and hunger? its not a dity secret of PETA's, they just realize that its bad PR to advertise the facts, since people COUGH would misunderstand. also, i hate PETA. just to make that clear.

"Hypocrisy is the mother of all credibility problems, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has it in spades. While loudly complaining about the "unethical" treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, the group has its own dirty little secret."

I'm not shocked that PETA euthanizes animals. However I am shocked that PETA continues to dance around the subject of terrorism in the name of animal rights. In fact PETA has given money to the Animal Liberation Front who is on the FBI list of Domestic Terrorist organizations. PETA spokespeople said terrorism was a tactic on Penn and Teller's Showtime television program. Yes, it's a tactic, but it's also deplorable and unjustifiable. PETA consistently refuses to denounce terrorism in the name of animal rights and has applauded the assault of medical researchers in England.

From the page: "PETA kills animals. By the thousands. From July 1998 through the end of 2005, PETA killed over 14,400 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals" -- at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. That's more than five defenseless animals every day. Not counting the dogs and cats PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 90 percent of the animals it took in during 2005 alone. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing. "

Why don't they advertise this kind of activities also? On the other hand, who is the responsible of this site and some absurds said on other section about "radical animal activism"? Money that's all, for PETA and seems that also, for the publisher of the site.

While it's probably inevitable that some animals will have to be euthanized, the stats here, if true, are simply horrible and unacceptable. Killing 80% of animals and dumping some of them in dumpsters is inhumane and cruel. PETA's priorities are completely messed up here. "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" means exactly that, and such blatant failures should not be tolerated. This website raises some very important questions and should be reviewed critically by animal-lovers.

I do not agree. Of course they euthanize the animals, what do you think they do with all the cats and dogs that are unwanted, left behind, or mistreated?? The author of this site has not once proposed an alternative that is realistic... Yes, PETA does kill animals because there is not enough money in the country to keep thousands of new unwanted animals alive. Maybe enough money, sure, but who's willing to pay for that? And if PETA does not do it, who should? The government?
