From the page: "Science is fact"

The Ether was fact? Caloric was fact? The Piltdown Man was fact?

Science isn't fact. Science is a process which tells us what appears to be fact based on the least amount of guesswork and in the absence of contravening evidence. That is to say that what science tells us could be fact; to go recklessly further and say "What science tells us is fact," borders on religiosity.

Heaven and Hell are not after life Heaven and Hell are part of life It's in life we create joy It's in life we cement walls To anyone who reads this Reveal your poetry Jumping any barriers Overflowing to your own nature We have only one life to relive over again in infinity Why regret in moving forward as the past lies, in fleeting memories The secret to life... Simply be true to yourself and smile Looking upon each day with the new wonder it deserves

The site offers fresh, new material to help people understand Taoism in the modern culture while also writing reflections of material thousands of years old as well. The Tao isn't in one book. It's a collection of our thoughts, ideas, actions and nature. We all contribute towards understanding the Tao. The concept is to simply to aid people understand and be themselves. It's within the wonder of self acceptance that understanding of the Tao emerges as an unexpected award.

***...Taoism. I find the Chinese indigenous philosophy fascinating but this website seems too constraining. I've have never read anywhere in the Taoist canon (mainly Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching") the following statements: "Science is fact. Religion is faith. Magic is perception. Know these boundaries to discover what lies beyond."

I can do no better than quote Casey Kochmer's own introduction to his delightful website: "A Personal Tao" is in part a modern version of the Tao Te Ching. It merges several forms of art into a poetic experience wandering humanity to reveal a reflection of the Tao.
