    I'm happy for Adam, sad for everyone else who is normal and just gets screwed by AT&T.

    This doesn't happen with regular people(not because of twitter), and it isn't such a secret that AT&T(and others) over charge with their overages or out of area charges. These cases are good to show that metered charges are not the way to go and that the carriers and ISPs need (by law)to see this.

    This doesn't showcase the power of Twitter, but the power of celebrity. If this had happened to a regular person without a huge fan base that just happens to be on Twitter, I have serious doubts that those outrageous charges would have been dropped. The last line says it all. "Apparently you've got enough Twitter followers to get our attention." That translates to 'It's a good thing you have thousands and thousands of fans, otherwise you'd be screwed, because individuals don't matter.'
