Sigh... From the page: "It took months to get a final vote on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), but House Republicans revived the issue this week in the hopes of securing immunity for telecom companies that participated in the government's warrantless wiretap program. Republicans are circulating what is known as a discharge petition, which allows a bill to be brought to the House floor without the approval of House leaders. A total of 218 signatures will be required in order to vote on the bill. At issue is a warrantless surveillance program that helps the government more easily eavesdrop on suspected terrorists. Telecommunications companies cooperated with the government, and allowed the National Security Agency access to their networks without any court intervention."
