Pat Metheny certainly one of my all time favorites - I met him after a small venue gig he did - the regattabar actually - in Cambridge Mass - as a guest with Charley Hayden - I think he is one of those performers that doesnt do fans well... its ok - Im still a big fan of the music

After listening to the first records of the PMG, could not stop and spent lot of money since in cds, dvds, tickets... and had the opportunity to be at many wonderful concerts. I have never been deceived! What a musician!

Pat Metheny has me hooked on his music. My favorite CD of his is my very favorite CD ever: (Still Life) Talking. Recommend you see him in concert. It's a great show.

I've been a fan of Pat Metheny since the seventies. Seen him in concert many times. I don't think anyone can duplicate his writing skills and playing techniques on the guitar.

I have been a long time fan of Pat Metheney. My favourite cd of his is "Imaginary Day" and my favourite tracks are 'follow me' and 'across the sky'. The 'across the sky' track in fact inspired one of my poems. If you are curious, feel free to read the poem at my site http://bluemercurygal.blogspot.com/ The poem is the one entitled 'Out of Time'. :)

I first saw Pat Metheny back in the '70s at the Bracknell Jazz Festival. It is difficult to describe his impact that he had and how radical he sounded, with a new guitar sound and a different approach to jazz and improvising. (Jan Garbarek was on the same bill, but doing his neo-Coltrane stuff). Over the years, he has at times almost become a spoof of himself, stepping closely to the 'Smooth Jazz' he professes to hate so much. Yet, each time he does that, he then manages to produce something that re-awakens hope in the music fan. The new album is one such work. [It's almost as though there is a battle between the magnate and the musician].

"Letter From Home" is absolutely one of the most beautiful compositions I have ever heard. "Last Train Home" really has a very nice melody and I just love how the percussion mimics the sound of a train. " Third Wind " has such an incredible solo that is quite humbling for us guitarists trying to learn it lick for lick. In all Pat Metheny is a unique and talented guitar player/songwriter that will never dissapoint live. Expect only the best musicians on tour with him.
