A very informative and comprehensive write up about the demon, Lilith. I so enjoyed both reading it and looking through the various images of Lilith.

"One folk story tells of how a daughter of Lilith dwelling in a mirror came to possess a narcissistic young girl. In this tale, a wife bought a mirror and hung it in the room of her daughter, not knowing that the mirror had been hung in a den of demons. A daughter of Lilith resided in it, and whenever the mirror was moved from house to house, the demoness within went with it.The tale recounts: "Now the daughter of Lilith who made her home in that mirror watched every movement of the girl who posed before it. She bided her time and one day she slipped out of the mirror and took possession of the girl, entering through her eyes... So it happened that this young girl, driven by the evil wishes of Lilith's daughter, ran around with young men who lived in the same neighborhood.""Lilith" by John Collier, 1892

Funny thing is, Eve wasn't exactly a goody two shoes either. Because Cain was born of woman and an angel... go read your biblio again and look at those words carefully.... Mark of Cain and all that...

Plenty of information and imagery about Lilith, a Mesopotamian goddess. Apparently she was quite popular amongst the common people too as we have some terracotta plaques surviving depicting her, and they seem to be mass produced with a mold.
