From the page: "It's worth noting that the emergence of video games as a major youth enthusiasm has occurred at the same time as a striking drop in juvenile violence. Maybe Sen. Clinton should be encouraging more gaming instead of calling for a federal crackdown on it."Ahh but that would involve actual free thinking and the mindless herd doesn't think on its own... instead, one person makes a little noise and the herd is in a stampede...You know what makes people kill other people? Politics.... I mean, we're killing people in Iraq right now over politics.... I don't remember any video game wars claiming thousands of lives (innocent or otherwise)...This is yet another article to point people at when they start spouting "video games are bad" shit at you.... Don't tell em they're wrong... tell em to read and then use their brain to come to a conclusion.... Then again, if they STILL think video games are evil, you should probably start ignoring them... And/or Remind them that everything from Rock N roll to Dungeons and Dragons has been demonized, and usually by people who understand it the least... thus least equipped to make such a declaration....

Don't believe the hype. Also, if you have kids, make sure you know what games they are playing. Video games are grand. Everyone should read Steven Berlin Johnson's book, Everything Bad is Good for You, which targets a similar topic as the one in this article. For everyone else, get a grip. Would you rather me stare at the television all day to cure my boredom, or interact with a problem solving machine? It makes sense to the youth culture that embraces it.

From the page: "About 15% of 2005's games received "Mature" or "Adults Only" ratings--surprisingly few, given that 65% of gamers are 18- to 34-year-olds." -- Sometimes Brent Bozell is off base, and with Video Games he is. Please Brent, stick to reporting on Mainstream Media, you're out of your realm here.
