joyousdawn rated 3 months ago- whoa.

champthom rated 3 months ago- The 19th century really did know how to make a good cautionary tale for children.

umanor rated 4 months ago- It reminds me of a story my mother told me. One of her friends was trying to teach her 5 year old child to stay away from the balcony, which was kinda rickety. So she took a water ballon, and showed her child what happened when she threw the balloon off the balcony. "See?", she said, "that could be you." The child started crying. My mother grossly disapproved, but still seemed to enjoy telling the story ;-) In all seriousness, though, this book kinda reminds me of why I seriously hate the way most religions are taught, especially Christianity. Teaching with fear is crippling to the human spirit, in my not-so-humble opinion...

I wish you to be gay and amuse yourselves at proper times; but you should never be rash or disobedient. You can play very well without climbing up to the window, on the furniture, or other improper places. If you see guns..."

arcticwoman rated 4 months ago- This is fabulous. I loved the stories, and I loved the presentation.
