Reviews of this website

workupafuss rated 46 minutes ago- Nice place to just relax and read, I believe it's called a, Duh! A "Library".

mcrumph rated 5 weeks ago- The only thing missing here is that great musty smell. There are a lot of sites out there that have e-texts, but this one overcomes the bland computer interface. In many other languages as well.

SugaredSkulls rated 3 months ago- I love the presentation of this site.

LemonBlueberry rated 3 months ago- This is a fantastic website devoted to preserving the written word. However, instead of the personality-devoid read-me type files, there are actual books! With turnable pages! It's gorgeous. I don't care for e-books, but this I could get used to.

tisstupid rated 3 months ago- This is an excellent use of modern technology. Older books are being digitized and displayed on the web. The difference between this effort and other efforts is that it is non-profit, and the interface to read the books is very nice. The books themselves are scanned page by page as images, and the reader can simply flip through them using AJAX controls. Best yet, the contents of the books can be searched. Since the books are pure data, this data can be recorded once, and applied to any future technology. I love it.

Angelic-Paradox rated 3 months ago- This is a very interesting way to read a book. I like the idea that it preserves the actual book, so to speak, yet allows a true book lover to enjoy older books. In concept, I think this is more interesting than reading page after page of text as I have seen on some "e-books". I enjoy to read, and altho I'd prefer to read an actual book, as well as collecting antique books, I don't always have the time to go to a library. By using a laptop computer, this would be an interesting alternative!

ramblinrose8 rated 3 months ago- exquisite! beautiful format, a beautiful way to honor and keep printed words alive!

apathor rated 3 months ago- awesome idea. all books should be free. intellectual property is a crime against society.

tbc rated 4 months ago- A worthy project. I didn't realize how much more pleasant it is to read books using the classic interface -- page by page.

modiebadanov rated 4 months ago- some things need tweaking and a visit back.
