  • OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet

Now this is a good idea! These DNS servers have built-in phishing detection, so if you are sent to a phishing site, you'll be sent to a page like the image to the right, so you'll be more safe. Also, they keep large caches of resolved addresses, so it's much faster than most... more

Really it might very well speed up the time it takes for your pc to learn the ip of the host you're looking up... but speeding up the transfer rates of the data you're receiving from that host? Not a hope. Still, I love OpenDNS, as mentioned before, in the continuing internet censorship scandal in Ireland (ie. Eircom not letting users access the Pirate Bay) using OpenDNS is a keen way to subvert all that :) 5/5

wow, slowed me down to a tenth of the speed I was. Also gave me error messages when I opened new tabs. Maybe I did something wrong but I've already got rid of all the changes and now I'm back up to speed and can open tabs. What's going on? Is this really helpful? Seemed to just fuck everything up for me.
