Excellent video demonstrations of the increasing reactivity of alkali metals with water as one moves down the first column of the periodic table.
From the page: "The alkali metals are the elements Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Caesium and Francium. They are grouped together because they all behave similarly (except with different ferocity) and together form Group 1 of the Periodic Table."

I love this stuff, though as far as demonstrations go, this is pretty tame. The Braniac video does a much better job at conveying the sheer power in the stronger Alkali metals.... and I think Francium was never used because it's radioactive or something... I think.
