Reviews of this website

tlacy rated 3 months ago- I heard him speak at the library a while back. He talked about how music has some fascinating effects on folks with brain disorders (before the release of this book: http://www.musicophilia.com/). I've read "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat" and loved it. I want to read his other books. Not sure why I'm so fascinated with brain disorders.

ConsiderThis rated 8 months ago- I liked the 60 Minutes segment on him some years ago. I'm marking this, to come back to.

KingBoy rated 24 months ago- The good Dr. Oliver Sacks, a man of rare compassion, learning and insight. His books are captivating, instructive and sometimes exceedingly strange. This official website is a little bare, but as an introduction it works well and there's a good page of links to articles and interviews.

rumisong rated 30 months ago- Oliver Sacks a bit of a Hero of mine (...dont say that about many...) "One might say that science itself, and civilization and art, are all about different orderings of the world - to contain it, and to make it in some sense intelligible, communicable. And bearable." (Oliver Sacks)

BerryChip rated 31 months ago- Marvelous to take small walks in this man's mind who knows so much about the mind. So much to be learned from Oliver Sacks.

marq101 rated 31 months ago- If this man doesn't get you interested in neuroscience than no one will. If you read his books, his amazement will be yours, his fascination catches you and you will be totally bewildered by this cosmos called brain

zchangu rated 31 months ago- Oliver Sacks OWNS.

VaVaVoommm rated 31 months ago- A neurologist's life is not systematic, like a scientist's, but it provides him with novel and unexpected situations, which can become windows, peepholes, into the intricacy of nature--an intricacy that one might not anticipate from the ordinary course of life. Oliver Sacks, writer and neurologist is a man who has opened up his fascination through writing, sharing his most poignant and amazing interests with the world. Perhaps you will best recognize him with one word..."Awakenings"

DickBeldin rated 33 months ago- Not just a neurologist, but a writer who fascinates me. Everyone who likes him, should also read "An Anthropologist on Mars" and the "Island of the Color Blind".
