The TED talks are really great, and this one is no exception. This is a dynamic speaker talking about global statistics and it was very engaging.

I keep bumping into quality on this TED thing. Here, the data, animated, gives instant comprehension of the realities the data refers to. Utterly fantastic 30 minutes.

Takes a left brain of fragmented numbers, and translates that into right brained visual-spatial thought forms. It's an optimistic sign of what's to come in terms of our ability to organize data into highly illuminating and effective forms of thought that everyone can understand easily enough.

This is the best talk I've seen/heard on the state of the world, and how it's changed in the last 30 years.
