Hard drives have been lagging behind other components in speed for a while now. For the home user I see quad core and DDR3 as standard. There are already SSD drives on a PCI or its faster interface relatives. Still solid state drives have a long way to go, don't be fooled by this one, there... more

If it happens, I'll be impressed. I'll be even more impressed when the price drops and it becomes mainstream.

Sucks to blow a pcie slot on it, but if it works as good as the author claims, that might just be worth it. Given a bit more time and some bigger developers in the field, this could be the next hot upgrade.

Still solid state drives have a long way to go, don't be fooled by this one, there are some cheaper, but when you look at this and current hard drive technology, its hard to wrap your mind around the price, and (in my opinion very) limited number of read writes. I wont be upgrading to solid state till its less than $100 USD for something around 250 Gigs.
