- "This will never work, for 2 reasons: 1. The more you spend on anything for your cat, the less they want anything to do with it. 2. Cats always want to be where they can get the most attention. That's in your lap or on the keyboard or on important papers, not in a bed that's away from the action." I second that, and say, too, that my cat is far too fat and heavy for this to ever be practical without counterbalance.

- A nice idea but as sashazur said, it won't work because cats want to be where they can get the most attention... which is not tucked away on a little shelf off to the side.
