Sadly there are lots of cases where man pits himself against a wild beast and gets injured or killed. I really do feel sorry for this guy, he was lifted off the ground on the end of a horn and I cannot imagine how painful that must have felt, I guess that's an occupational risk when you are a matador and an eventuality that you have to keep in mind. All that said enraging a bull by putting it in and unfamiliar and scary environment and then causing it pain and suffering is a little like playing Russian roulette, sooner or later it's going to go badly.
