ideaguy discovered 7 months ago- A terrific collection of the enigmatic, elusive Mr. Johns, this ensemble of works in Gray trace the career of the bad boy of Ab Ex-and one of the most intelligent,deep thinkers of the art world in the 20th C. To begin to understand Johns is akin to opening your eyes after a trip taken blindfolded. One of the first to OK the painting as object-and with new perspective, not the clones of Duchamp; fresh, solid thinking. Unheard of-and Johns has been quiet about his art for a long time.
