I think I broke the meter ;) (high education/job status, pitiful income/wealth status!).

Rate yourself to see what social class you fall into. Scales are: occupation, education, annual income, wealth. It's not hard to rank fairly well: I ranked in the 76th percentile.

Neat, interactive site about class. Find out where you rank.

Wow. It's a social class meter to inform you whether your in the upper class, lower class, or somewhere in between. It makes me feel sort of sad.

From the "nationwide poll" tab: "To discover how Americans regard social class, the Times conducted a nationwide survey in March. The poll uncovered that the American public had swallowed hook, line, and sinker the standard bullshit about upward mobility and equal opportunity in America, despite the overwhelming and ever-growing evidence to the contrary. The Times felt it would be in its own best interest not to disabuse them of these foolish beliefs." Okay, so I might have paraphrased a bit, but that was the gist of it.
