ChellaAnn discovered 9 weeks ago- This strategy of illegal harassment of low-income tenants (so they will vacate and rents can be hiked) is happening all over North America. The solution for tenants: tell somebody, tell it loudly, stand up for yourselves, fight for your home. Don't let them make you leave. From the page: "private equity firms have bought nursing homes, often slashing expenses and reducing staff to increase their profits." This is happening all over, not just in New York, and not just in nursing homes. It's a good example of a self-correcting problem, since this harassment and ill treatment in the name of profit will force people to band together out of necessity, and then these crooks will be finished. You may have noticed that you get less and less for your money, and it's getting worse over the past few years. You pay more, but you get less service and less quality. This is a trend employed by corporate thieves to squeeze more juice out of us. People: start getting together. Talk about this. Help one another out in any way you can. It's the only solution, but more importantly, this is the hidden benefit awaiting all of us - the re-emergence of social capital (people helping people). The thieves are pushing us towards our redemption and the inevitable destruction of corporate rule. They can't take our spirit.
