I don't know whether to be tickled or horrified. Long-running soap opera Guiding Light is teaming up with Marvel Comics to produce a special episode in which one of the characters gets superpowers, dons a mask and a cape, and goes around fighting crime. I'm not making this up. In return, Marvel will publish an 8-issue series based on the same storyline. I guess it's no more unlikely than any of the kidnapping, blackmail, and round-robin affairs which go on in any soap opera, and the writing sure can't be any more trite. Who knows, it might even catch on. Of course, I also predicted that Cop Rock was going to revolutionize television...
