- I am not a conspiracy theorist, and I don't think we are bound to follow the path of Rome, but this article is one among several that make a strong case that we are at the on-ramp.
It's not in this article, but I think the parralell between Rome's dependence on slave labor, and the current US dependence on illegal immigrants is striking. And that is why I doubt the illegals will be legalized or deported. The status quo serves those who make the laws just fine.
